World-Federation-of-Colleges-and-Polytechnics-(WFCP)-2018-World-Congress

Melbourne Convention Centre is this week hosting a major conference featuring over 800 international delegates and experts on vocational education.

The gathering, the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) 2018 World Congress, also incorporates the 2018 TAFE Directors Association (TDA) convention.

Federation Training’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Grant Radford, is attending the three-day conference and said the conference theme was ‘Preparing for the Skills Future, Now!

“This conference is bringing together institute leaders, professional educators, policy advocates and concerned stakeholders,” Mr Radford said.

“The continued investment in vocational training is critical to ensuring our students have the skills necessary to prepare for the jobs of the future and to understand the global experience is also very important.”

TDA Chief Executive, Craig Robertson, said the TDA proudly showcases the work TAFE institutions are doing all over Australia and bringing world experts to Melbourne to discuss professional and technical education solutions to the challenges faced by the sector builds relationships and cooperation.

“The 2018 World Congress will focus on action-based solutions to these challenges and will make a difference to the outcomes of millions of vocational and professional students world-wide,” Mr Robertson said.

“It will also provide an opportunity for Australia to look at its vocational education and training system from the outside in and compare its readiness for future challenges with other countries’ systems.”
