Course Overview

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops.  The qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate II in Hospitality.

Opportunities for Further Study

On completion of this qualification, the learner may follow a variety of pathways, each dependent on whether they wish to pursue an apprenticeship, traineeship or work at an operational level in front of house or commercial cookery focus.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 16 Years of age.  Students will be able to train in RSA and learn about bar service in the training environment however, it should be noted that they will not be able to work behind a bar serving alcohol until they reach the age of 18.
