Course Overview

If you plan to become a liquor licensee, you must complete a "Licensees' First Step" course as approved by the Director of Liquor Licensing (Victoria).

This course is an approved First Step course in order to obtain a liquor license. If you want work in the industry serving alcohol, it is important to know the liquor laws and responsible serving practices.

This course is ideal if you are new to the industry or as a refresher for existing members. Key areas include:

  • the legislative environment for liquor licensees
  • understanding your liquor license
  • best practice in managing licensed premises.

Federation Training is licensed through William Angliss Institute who is accredited by the VCGLR to deliver the Licensee First Step Program.
