Certificate III Hairdressing
Brodie Harris loves hair. The 21 year old has recently completed her three year Hairdressing apprenticeship and is still as passionate today as she was when she started.
For Brodie hairdressing was an obvious career choice and one that stemmed from her childhood.
“I have always loved doing hair” said Brodie.
“When my apprenticeship came up I jumped on board and fell in love with the career even more.”
Brodie signed up for an apprenticeship with Fresh Hair Lakes Entrance and completed her Certificate III in Hairdressing at the Federation Training Bairnsdale Campus.
During her time at TAFE Brodie was able to put theory into practice and test her skills at the Riverview Hair and Beauty salon.
“Having clients come into the salon at TAFE makes it like a real workplace”
“Working with clients builds up your confidence and makes you really feel like you are working in an actual salon.”
Now that Brodie has finished her apprenticeship she will take on a full-time role in the job she loves.
“Becoming a qualified hairdresser and coming out of an apprenticeship has been fantastic and knowing I will be fulfilling my dream of working full time at a salon is great” said Brodie.
“I plan on taking on the role as a full time employee at Fresh Hair Lakes Entrance where I will use all the skills I learnt at TAFE and apply them to my work.”
Brodie’s advice for anyone thinking about attending TAFE is to “Go for your goals!”
“Federation Training is a great and I have been very lucky to have been a part of the TAFE. The teachers and staff are all so helpful!”
