What was it that first got you excited about your chosen study area and future career path?
I wanted to refresh and gain knowledge and understanding of study today, it has changed since I was last at school. I am hoping to do further study, to help me gain employment and better myself.

Can you remember how you felt in the first week of your course?
I felt excited to learn and meet new people. I found the things I learned great and well informed. I was nervous about what people would think of my age but everyone was great.

Staying motivated can be a challenge for a lot of new students, what challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?
I’ve learnt how to research topics, reference text and also in-text references. I ask for help when I need it and I have adjusted back into study quite well. I am finding the subjects informative and up to date and I am coping well with all the new challenges.

Where to from here?
I hope to do my VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) next year, both year 11 and 12. I would also like to do other courses, Math, English and online research are good skills to take into any job and new information is always good to have.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about studying at GippsTAFE?
Do it. The experience is great, the teachers and other students help you to adjust and settle in well. Pick a course that suits you or focus on gaining knowledge where you need it. The best move I’ve made lately is enrolling at GippsTAFE.
