Course Overview

Forklift operators drive forklifts to shift and stack a variety of items such as bales, cartons, containers, crates and pallets of goods in areas such as timber yards and warehouses, and are employed in a wide range of industries and businesses.

This course provides basic training in the safe operation of forklift trucks. It covers regulations, safety requirements, operation of a variety of forklift trucks, movement of loads from a pallet, stacking and racking.

What to bring

The Work Safety Centre is classified as a 'Construction Zone' so the student must wear appropriate safety PPE at all times. As a minimum high visability clothing (shirt or vest) and steel cap safety boots must be worn at all times. In addition please ensure you bring a safety helmet and safety glasses for high risk tasks.

Students are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to commencement of training and also bring the following to meet WorkSafe Victoria licensing requirements:

  • Victorian Drivers Licence or proof of ID card
  • Passport or proof of Victorian Residence (Utilities bill or bank statement)

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon completion of this course, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
