The 22469VIC Course in Introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a short course targeted at entrants who are new to working as a direct support worker (DSW) and need an introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and an introductory understanding of working with an NDIS participant.
The course provides a pathway to further qualifications – it is not intended as a replacement for full certificate-level qualifications.

Opportunities for Further Study
Continue into further VET study in either the CHC Community Services of HLT Health Sector training. For example, CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support or CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability
As a general guide to entry, learners will be best equipped to achieve the course if they have, as a minimum, language and literacy skills equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3.
Learners with language and literacy skills at lower levels may require additional support to successfully undertake the course.

After achieving this introductory course, learners may:
- continue on a VET pathway via relevant training products from the CHC Community Services Training Package or the HLT Health Training Package
- look for work as a DSW supporting an NDIS participant in the disability sector.
